Lamborghini LP570-4 Superleggerra

This is the new LP570-4 Superleggerra. Which means super light in Italian.  This orange monster is the sportiest model in the Gallardo lineup. It has 562hp which may not seem like a lot when thinking of a super car, but do not be fooled. That name is not just a name. This car only weighs 2,954 pounds! Which is actually lighter than the Ferrari F430 Scuderia by 88 pounds. This bullet can actually hit 60mph in 3.1 seconds. For those that do not know, that time is blisteringly fast! In fact that means that this car can keep up with its older brother, the LP640.

The Superleggerra has, what Lamborghini calls, an e-transmission which delivers gear changes in less than 2 hundredths of a second. This aids the car in achieving its insane 0-60 time. What is also great about the car is that it still is AWD which enables the car to withstand an incredibly amount of lateral force when cornering. Also it has optional carbon ceramic brakes which allow the car to achieve incredible stopping distances. All in all this car is absolutely fabulous!

Porsche Panamera models

The Panamera is an all new Porsche model. For the first time Porsche has created a sedan. However the Panamera is much more than a sedan. It is also an extremely capable sports car. There are five Panamera models the Panamera, Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S, and the Panamera turbo.

The Panamera and Panamera 4 are both powered by a revised 3.6 liter V6 which is found in a few other VW Group models. It pumps out 300hp and 295 lbs-ft of torque. Both models use the exceptional Porsche PDK transmission, which is a dual-clutch transmission. For those that do not know the 4 in the model name means that the car is AWD. The V6 models are said to achieve about 25 mpg. Which is fairly good efficiency for a car that can go 0-60 in about 5.4 seconds. The rear wheel drive model has a starting price of $74,400 with the all wheel drive model carrying a base sticker of $78,900. Worth it? You decide.

Next we move to the Panamera S and 4S. These two models are both powered by a 4.8 liter V8 engine. They have 400hp and 369 lbs-ft of torque. With all that power the S is able to achieve 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, while the 4S, having better traction, is able to reach 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. These models have all of the same options as the V6, accept for a sport exhaust option that gives the V8 Panameras a very throaty sound. The base price of the S is $89,800 and the 4S is $93,800. Worth it? Probably.

The last Panamera model is the turbo. This 4 door rocket has 500hp and 516 lbs-ft (568 lbs-ft with the optional Sport Chrono Turbo Package) of torque. As you can see there is a drastic difference between the turbo and the other Panamera models. How fast you ask? The turbo hits 60 mph, with launch control, in 4.0 seconds. That is still without the optional over boost option called the Sport Chrono Turbo Package. The turbo Panamera has a base price of $132,600 so it is a fairly expensive, but when put side by side with its competitors the price makes sense. Worth it? Without a doubt!

Porsche hasn't just stuck their foot in the door of the sport sedan market. They have jumped through the doorway just before the door was closing. The Panamera is a highly capable car with or without all of the fancy options. It is clear that the Panamera will make its mark in the sedan market. Some may call it ugly, but when you look at the practicality of the car the design makes total sense. Many do not like the rear end because of its hatch back styling. However, this styling enables the Panamera to not only have a fairly large trunk, but it allowed Porsche to push the rear seats back towards the rear more to increase leg room and head room. The design makes total sense. Whether people love it or hate it, the Panamera has opened so many doors for Porsche and also has made its competitors realize they are no longer the top.
